Before you start
- Must possess an active personal profile on the unified eCitizen network portal.
- For lost licenses, you must obtain an official Police Abstract from a local police station before applying online.
Documents you need
- National Identity Card or valid foreign passport details.
- A scanned legible copy of your valid Police Abstract (in PDF or JPEG format).
- Your current driving licence number or estimated registration reference year if known.
Step by step
- Access the NTSA portal dashboard
Log into the official eCitizen platform using your personal credentials and open the National Transport and Safety Authority service link.
- Select license replacement services
Open the "Driving License Services" sub-menu interface screen and click on the "Replacement of Driving License" link pathway.
- Upload documents and fill details
Input your original licence tracking number, specify the reason for the replacement request, and upload your scanned physical Police Abstract file.
- Clear the replacement charges
Select your preferred eCitizen transactional tool (such as mobile money or card payments) and clear the required Ksh 3,160 flat portal total.
- Schedule your smart card collection slot
Choose an open calendar appointment date and your nearest NTSA collection hub center to schedule your biometric verification or physical card pick-up session.
