About
Sen. Richard Momoima Onyonka is the Senator for Kisii County. He won election to the Senate of Kenya in August 2022 under the Democratic Action Party–Kenya (DAP-K). Before becoming a senator, he worked as a corporate executive for telecommunications firms, served three consecutive terms as the Member of Parliament for Kitutu Chache Constituency between 2007 and 2022, and held appointments as an Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and for Higher Education. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Nairobi and a Master of Business Administration in Management from the United States International University. In parliament, he serves as a member of both the Senate County Public Accounts committee and the Finance and Budget committee.
