About
Lucy Mumbua Mulili serves as the deputy governor of Makueni County. She took office in August 2022 alongside Governor Mutula Kilonzo Junior to oversee devolved regional operations, resource administration, and public engagement initiatives across the county's sub-counties. Within the county administration, she chairs the cabinet's emergency sub-committee, guiding structural interventions and rapid response budgeting for climate risks, regional infrastructure repair, and water security programs. Before her election to county executive leadership, Mulili built an extensive public career in civil administration spanning over two decades. She entered public service as a district officer and was subsequently promoted to county commissioner, supervising national government policy execution, public coordination, and security across multiple counties. Her final administrative role before entering elective politics was secretary of administration within the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy.
