About
Joseph Githuku Kamau is the Senator for Lamu County. He won election to the Senate of Kenya in August 2022 as a candidate for the Jubilee Party. Before entering the national legislature, he served as a Nominated Member of the County Assembly (MCA) from 2013 to 2017 and later worked as the Deputy Speaker of the Lamu County Assembly. He holds a degree from the International Leadership University and completed his secondary school education at Mpeketoni Boys School in 1994. In parliament, he focuses on local land rights and health initiatives while serving as a member of the Senate standing committees for Health, National Security, and National Cohesion.
