Sen. Andrew Okiya Omtatah Okoiti is the Senator for Busia County. He won election to the Senate of Kenya in August 2022 as a candidate for the National Agenda Party of Kenya (NAPK). Before entering politics, he worked for more than two decades as an independent human rights defender and public interest litigator, successfully filing numerous landmark constitutional petitions to protect public funds and consumer rights. He holds a Diploma in Philosophy from St. Augustine Senior Seminary and completed his secondary education at St. Peter's Mumias Boys High School. In parliament, he focuses on legislative oversight, public sector accountability, and constitutional compliance, while serving as a member of both the Senate Justice, Legal Affairs and Human Rights committee and the County Public Accounts committee.
