The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Bujumbura is the primary sovereign mission dedicated to expanding bilateral relationships, economic collaborations, and mutual socio-economic benefits between Kenya and Burundi.
The Mission serves a key regional role by acting as the accredited permanent representation to the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR). Strategic focus areas include driving East African trade corridor integration across key infrastructure sectors (ICT, construction, tourism, transport, and manufacturing), while fostering long-term peace and security synchronization within the Great Lakes corridor.

Public Service Delivery Charter
The Consular Division provides comprehensive services to Kenyan citizens and foreign applicants, facilitating visa services (eTA), emergency passes, permits, and documentation verifications.
Kenyan citizens living in or visiting Burundi are strictly required to log an official profile registration with the mission to enable immediate consular response dockets during emergencies. Of note, Kenyan citizens can enter Burundi visa-free for up to 180 days.
